1983 Majorette Citroën Dyane Raid

The Citroën 2CV was made by the French automaker from 1948 to 1990. The front-engine, front-wheel-drive economy car was a sparse-looking machine that had a soft canvas top and featured a long-travel suspension that could handle gravel roads or even freshly-plowed fields. The 2CV platform could also be fitted as a pick-up, panel van or utility coupe. In 1967, Citroën introduced the Dyane, which was based on the 2CV chassis, but had updated body panels, a rear hatchback and integrated headlights. The Dyane was meant to replace its cheaper cousin, but instead it was discontinued in 1983 while the 2CV was produced for 7 more years.

The Majorette Citroën Dyane Raid was first released in 1976 and was produced until 1983 in about 27 different variations. This metallic gold model with 3-spoke wheels is one of my Wichita eBay scores. Except for the missing gray plastic soft top, it is in very nice condition.

The Majorette Citroën Dyane Raid features a plastic grille guard, roll cage and rear spare tire and has a gas can cast into the unpainted metal base.

1980 Fullright Fastwheels London Bus

This London Bus is another of my April Estate Sale finds, from the same location where I scored the Hot Wheels Hot Bird and the Sto & Go Mini Market. I picked up this bus mostly so I could do some research on it. It is decent quality it has a diecast metal base which is stamped “London Bus No. 1003 Hong Kong” with no branding, so I was curious to find out more about it.

I wasn’t able to find a lot of information, but Fullright was a Hong Kong-based company known for making copies of Tomica models. I have seen photos online of this model in a package from 1980 branded Fastwheels. The Fullright London Bus is pretty much identical to its Tomica counterpart. One interesting difference is that the interior and seats on this model are molded from the same clear plastic as the windows. As I already noted, the base is made of diecast metal, while my Tomica example has a plastic base. Click here to compare to the Tomica London Bus in my collection.

1971 Corgi Juniors Morgan Plus 8

The Corgi Juniors Morgan Plus 8 was first released in 1970 in the short-lived Corgi Rockets line, where it was issued in 3 different variations. In 1971 it was given the Corgi Juniors base and four more variations were produced up to 1973. This red model, another of my Wichita eBay scores, is in good condition but is missing a 20 label from the door.
