1989 Majorette Chevrolet Corvette

First released in 1984, the Majorette Chevrolet Corvette was a popular model that was produced in at least 45 different variations. In 1991-1993, it was included in the Sonic Flashers series – without opening doors – and made a revving engine sound. It was cast in France up until 1993 and thereafter was made in Thailand. There are also at least 10 plastic-bodied variations that were made in Portugal and released in series such as Novacar, Super Chrystal, and Magic Cars. This French-cast metal body/metal base yellow version with red and black graphics and extra-large-O wheels is another car from the baggie of Majorettes I found at Paramount Marketplace back in September.

To be honest, I’m not a big fan of the fourth generation (1984-1996) Corvette that this model is based on. Still it’s a fun addition to my growing collection of sporty Majorettes from the 1980s, which now includes several variations of the Pontiac Fiero, a nice Lamborghini Countach, a Porsche 911 Turbo, and a Mustang SVO.

The Majorette #268 Chevrolet Corvette features opening doors.
